We are communicating!
We talk .... We listen .... We understand .... We speak from the heart
Hello! My name is Sara Lewis and I am the speech teacher at T.C. Walker. I am currently working on my master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology through a program offered by the Virginia Department of Education and James Madison University.
Before going back to school to learn about communication disorders, I worked as a marketing and communications manager in business. After my father suffered a stroke in 2009, I became very interested in understanding more about communication, the trait that makes us truly human. I decided to switch careers in order to help people like my father find their voice. I also enjoy working with children to help them develop the communication skills they need to be successful in life. I have volunteered and worked with children at CDR, an early childhood intervention agency, and in the Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools.
Through master's degree work and supervised work as a part-time speech teacher (provisional) in the Gloucester County Public Schools, I am learning the skills of a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
